Case Study: IIT Kanpur

By BP Refcool

Refrigerant Leak Monitoring System at IIT Kanpur, IIT Kanpur is one of most prestigious and premier institution of higher technical education in India. It has been consistently ranked in top engineering institutes of India for over several decades. As expansion they were looking for supply of a refrigerant early leak detection system for new chiller plant room.

Gas leak detection is used to continuously monitor for refrigerants in air conditioning systems in hotels, offices, apartments and buildingsShould there be a refrigerant leak in the chiller system and refrigerant gases escape, depending on the potential size of the leak, a leak detection system either alerts will alert for low, main and high alarms and also communicated same with the building management system (BMS).  This system will indicate which chiller have potential leak and with ppm level on display engineer will know how to big is leak and find and manage before major loss of refrigerant happens.
